What's the difference between Plus and BYOK?

Plus ($20/mo) bundles AI in with your hosting — you get a generous monthly AI allowance and never have to set up an API key. BYOK ($10/mo) is for power users who already have an AI provider API key and would rather pay their provider directly with no usage cap. Same hosting, same tools, same primitives — the only difference is who's paying for the AI.

When should I upgrade Plus → Premium?

Three signs you'll feel: you're hitting your Plus monthly AI allowance before renewal, you're running busy scheduled tools that brush against rate limits, or you've got more than 25 tools and don't want to archive old ones. Premium gives a much larger AI bucket, 5× higher rate limits, and unlimited published tools — same plumbing as Plus, more headroom.

How much AI can I actually use on Plus?

Plenty for typical use — building tools, editing them, and using AI features inside them. We don't expose an exact number because real usage varies wildly by what your tools do. Most active users never hit the monthly cap. If you do, your published tools keep working and new AI calls pause until renewal — or upgrade to Premium or BYOK any time to keep going.

Do I need my own AI provider key?

On Plus and Premium: no, we handle the AI for you. On BYOK: yes — you connect your key in account settings and we route AI calls through it. On Free: no, you get a small AI allowance for the trial so you can test the experience.

What happens to my tools if I cancel?

Your existing tools stay published and keep working — we never break something you already shipped. You won't be able to publish new tools or use AI features that need a paid plan, but the tools you have keep running. Re-subscribe any time and you're back.

Can I share my tools with friends?

Yes. Public tools are shareable via a link — anyone can open them. Private tools can be invited to specific Ellivate users. Shared tools don't count against your friends' tool limits — they count against yours, since you're the owner.

Can I switch plans?

Yes, any time. Upgrading mid-period gives you the new plan's AI bucket right away (Stripe prorates the price difference). Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep what you already paid for. Cancel from inside Ellivate or from the link in your renewal email.

Is my data private?

Yes. Tools you publish are private by default. Each tool gets its own data namespace, so they can't read each other's stored data. Secrets are encrypted at rest and only injected into your own containers at deploy time.
